If you’re one of the 600 million people using Instagram, you’ve probably seen a makeup blogger and/or tutorial pop on when scrolling through your feed. You may have noticed the difference in the makeup look they’re creating versus the makeup you see in day-to-day life. “Instgram makeup” has its own dramatic style. Think flawless skin, filled-in bold brows, contoured cheekbones and overdrawn lips.

And now beauty vlogger Amanda Ensing is showing off both these looks on one face. That’s right, in Ensing’s latest video, she creates an Instgram look, complete with faux lashes and contour, on one side of her face, and glowy, subtle, everyday makeup on the other.
She begins the video by noting this isn’t the first of it’s kind. This idea has been floating around the beauty vlogger-sphere for a bit and she was excited to be a part of it.
“This definitely shows the power of makeup to me,” she says in the video. “”I love how makeup can transform your face, give you confidence, be whoever you want to be, whether it’s Instagram makeup or everyday makeup, you should be able to wear whatever you want when you want, because at the end of the day, it washes off.”

After speaking to the beauty of both dramatic and natural looks, she dives into how she created both. The everyday makeup looks is created with lots of natural, nude makeup such as Makeup Up For Ever HD Foundation Stick, NYX HD Concealer, Tarte Contouring Palette, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, Benefit Rollerlash and NARS Madly Blush.
The Instagram makeup side is another story. There’s lots of contouring and shadowing and colors and… well, you can watch for yourself below.
She concludes by stating that she doesn’t necessarily like one more than another. “I like the way they both work for different reasons, and I think they’re both beautiful in their own way.”
