Philosophy

While there have been many improvements in breast surgery, some patients remain unaware of the numerous advancements that have resulted in an almost painless procedure with minimal downtime. Having performed more than 5,000 augmentations throughout his career, Dr. Bradley Bengtson is renowned for his breast surgery expertise. “ 3-D imaging technology now allows patients to navigate implant size selection and outcomes in ways never experienced before,” says Dr. Bengtson. “Because the procedure is bloodless, there is less swelling, bruising and pain with Marcaine® anesthesia. With our Fast-Trak Recovery program we expect our patients to feel good enough to go out to dinner or a movie the same day.” He has performed the initial landmark research needed to develop an ultrasound system to image and follow breast implant patients throughout their post-operative journey, an innovation that benefits his patients and surgeons around the world. About My Practice

What nonsurgical advancements have you added?

It’s been busy at the Bengtson Center! We’ve recently added Profound RF, a new radio-frequency treatment that provides patients with long-lasting facial wrinkle reduction and collagen building. In addition, we’ve advanced our patients results and experience by bringing in the latest nonsurgical fat freezing device, CoolSculpting® Elite. Patients are also experiencing amazing results with our recently added advanced injectables, the cellulite treatment Qwo® and a new collection of RHA® fillers by Revance Aesthetics.

What plastic surgery advancements are on the horizon?

Instead of MRI, we use high-resolution ultrasound now to look at breast implants which is a valuable tool for patients. I’ve performed the initial landmark research in this area that was published in a recent issue of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. It has transformed the patient experience and confidence with their breast implants and how we follow up with and treat our breast augmentation and reconstruction patients.

How do you enhance the patient experience?

We’ve created a high-quality center that strives for excellence, providing our patients individualized service using our comprehensive offering of treatments. Nestled on the first floor of New Vista, the Bengtson Center has a boutique hotel or spa feel with beautiful surroundings—complete with a men’s lounge, fireplace, warm reading nook and skin-care bar.

How would you describe your office?

The office was designed by a residential builder and creative design team to establish a space that is inviting and warm, complete with a reading nook and fireplace. Patients are greeted by a concierge, as if they’re entering a hotel or a cozy residence, and directed to our skin-care, injectable or plastic surgery center. It’s our utmost goal to make our patients feel comfortable, welcomed and relaxed.

About Me

How do you guide patients when discussing surgical and nonsurgical options?

I believe we tend to be an either/or society when it comes to maintaining a natural, youthful appearance. However, many patients benefit from both/and, or combination treatments. For instance, both facial fillers and a facelift may be needed to restore volume and treat sagging skin.

What attracted you to facial plastic surgery?

It provides a mix of compassion, science, art and creativity.

What affiliations are you proud to have?

I am proud to be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and to be involved with the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Plastic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons.

What is something your patients might not know about you?

I am one of only 10 plastic surgeons selected to be a member of Allergan’s Executive Council, and I am a lead investigator for the Natrelle® 410 Highly Cohesive Gel breast implant often referred to as the “Gummy Bear.” I’m also dedicated to Revisional Cosmetic Breast Sugery and the correction of Capsular Contracture using Acellular Dermal Matrix (Alloderm / Strattice™).
